Free Fun Driving Day – August 8

The free fun driving and riding day is this Saturday, August 8, at
Valkyrie’s Haven (Leslye Sandberg’s farm), 487 Cynthiana Rd., Paris,
KY 40361. The farm is open at 9:00 a.m., but you may arrive any time
after that.

Since COVID-19 has cancelled so many events this year, we thought club
members might enjoy a space to drive or ride at will.  (Riders, please
be sure that your horse/pony is comfortable around carriages.)  There
will be social distanced gathering in the shade, so bring a lunch,
snacks, and your favorite beverage!  There is a cones course, three
obstacles (two completely on the flat, and one other will have ABCD on
the flat and EF more advanced in the tree stand with some elevation),
and Leslye has mowed up trails!

Carrie Ostrowski and Leslie Cashion are available to schedule lessons
on dressage, cones, obstacles, or any other driving skills.  To

Lessons are $65 for 50 minutes.  You will pay at your lesson time.  If
you are writing a check, make it payable to Carrie or Leslie.

Bathrooms and office kitchen are available in the barn.  Leslye is
providing an iced bucket with bottled water.

COVID-19 rules are still in effect!  This means, when not driving or
riding, you must wear masks and keep your safe distance.  Please keep
yourselves and those around you safe.

We wish to thank Leslye Sandberg for graciously hosting the club at
her fantastic farm.  As of now, the forecast for Saturday looks great
with a 30% chance of scattered showers.  If it follows the pattern of
recent weather, showers usually occur late afternoon or early evening.
